Our Mission We are a community-driven project using this website to sensitize, educate, and empower school dropout youth in Bujubuli and surrounding areas. Our goal: Reduce unemployment by highlighting the problem and showing practical paths to skills, jobs, and self-employment.
The Challenge We Face
- High Dropouts: Long walks to school, lack of fees/materials, family poverty, and refugee settlement pressures cause many to leave education early.
- Unemployment Trap: Without certificates or skills, youth rely on irregular casual labor, subsistence farming, or remain idle. This leads to low income, mental stress, and limited opportunities.
- Local Reality: In Kyegegwa District, limited secondary schools, vocational institutes, and job creation make the situation tough — but not impossible.
- Broader Uganda issues: Skills mismatch, few formal jobs, and high youth population growth.
Our Vision A Bujubuli where every young person has skills, confidence, and opportunities to earn a living, start businesses, and contribute to the community. We focus on sensitization through stories, facts, and calls to action.
What We Offer
- Awareness on unemployment causes and effects.
- Information on vocational training (e.g., tailoring, carpentry, farming, welding, hairdressing — programs like URDT exist nearby).
- Encouragement for entrepreneurship and government programs (e.g., youth funds, skills initiatives).
- Platform to connect with opportunities and each other.
